MZYMES Ltd: eTMP technology - The winner of the INNOSUOMI award 2009

MZYMES Ltd has developed a novel eTMP technology for the enzymatic pretreatment of wood chips in the mechanical pulp process. The enzyme treatment, tailored for given raw material, process and final product, has an effect for the fiber formation and modifies the fiber characteristics such as brightness and coarseness. By applying enzymes as biocatalysts, remarkable energy savings are also obtained. We are developing similar applications for processing of chemical pulp and recycled fibers as well.
